At a Feb. 25 joint meeting of the Board of Finance and Board of Selectmen in Tolland, officials reviewed a preliminary budget spreadsheet, set a schedule of budget workshops, and heard the town attorney argue the finance board has authority to alter the Board of Education budget before it goes to town meeting. Public commenters praised the new treasurer and raised enrollment and tuition concerns.
