At its June 2, 2025 regular meeting, the Polk County Board of Commissioners approved budget and capital plan amendments that add a $1.3 million jail cell renovation, revised county personnel retirement language on banked sick leave, approved a $1-per-year lease for the Department of Driver Services, rezoned two tracts in Rockmart, and voted to purchase roughly three acres for a new fire station on Akes Station Road.
