Dr. Benning, superintendent of Gilmer County Schools, told the board the West Virginia Board of Education and state code changes mean "educational leave" will no longer be counted as excused absence; the board approved routine minutes/payments, accepted a $326,667 bid for a high school kitchen replacement, approved out-of-state professional leave, a proclamation for 'Celebrate Freedom Week,' several personnel items and adjourned.
