Cocke County Legislative Body met Sept. 15, 2025 in Newport. Members elected leadership, approved the county budget and multiple resolutions including support for Pigeon River whitewater restoration, a traffic-calming policy, and joining amended opioid-abatement settlements; they also approved appointments, tax refunds and the sheriff's body-camera purchase.
