The Ware County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing Nov. 10, 2025, on a request to close and abandon a roughly 50-by-400-foot unopened section of Center Street. The applicant, Dale Poole, supported the closure citing safety for his grandchildren; nearby landowners opposed the move citing loss of access. The board closed the hearing and added the item to the Dec. 8 regular meeting agenda.
