At a special-called Simpson County Fiscal Court meeting Jan. 3, 2024, the court approved the 2024 budgets for the county clerk and sheriff (each including a 3% pay increase), passed two ordinances including a Code of Ethics update, approved bonds required by state law, authorized budget transfers and approved bills and claims. The court made routine announcements and adjourned.
