The City of Lake Jackson Zoning Board of Adjustments on Dec. 3, 2025 heard Case 25Z-019, a variance request to allow a Denny's franchise to rebuild on its former footprint along Seawall Boulevard. After extended testimony from the applicant, owner and contractor about likely redevelopment costs, the board voted to defer the decision to Jan. 7, 2026 and requested incremental cost estimates comparing rebuild-at-site to compliance rebuild.
