Franklin County Fiscal Court held a special work session on Sept. 11, 2024, where local nonprofits—including the Franklin County Humane Society, Thornhill Education Center, Wanda Joyce Robinson Foundation and the Capital City Activity Center—presented program updates and urgent funding needs. The court discussed the Humane Society's notice to terminate its county animal control contract absent a new agreement, heard multiple service and grant requests, authorized a memorandum of understanding with ASAP to create a county outreach position, and voted on several routine administrative items.
