The Alpena County Finance Ways & Means Committee met Feb. 10, 2026, and voted unanimously to call a May 5 special election to renew a monthly 911 surcharge through December 2032; the committee also approved routine bills and multiple administrative budget and leasing actions, and approved moving forward with hiring for a deputy/sergeant position.
