St. Mary Parish Council met in regular session in Franklin on Feb. 11, 2026. The council adopted ordinances to condemn the Plantation Inn Hotel and to prohibit feeding stray cats and dogs in unincorporated areas, called a June 27 special election on a Home Rule Charter rewrite, tabled a specific-use request for backyard chickens, and heard reports on local economic projects and Water & Sewer Commission No. 4 payment issues.
