At a special called meeting on Feb. 27, 2017, the Franklin County Commission unanimously approved applying for a $4.99 million Community Development Block Grant and committed a $1 million local match to build a Tennessee College of Applied Technology satellite; the commission also adopted a resolution supporting the Tennessee Broadband Accessibility Act and adjourned shortly afterward.
