At its March 4, 2026 meeting, the Needham Community Preservation Committee heard a late open-space application from the Select Board and Conservation Commission to acquire 10 acres on Cartwright Road (purchase price $800,000) and reviewed follow-up materials on three projects (Disc Golf, Seabeds/solar-related housing work, and the Elliott playground). Committee members raised questions about valuation, design completeness and procurement readiness and scheduled a public hearing next week and follow-up meetings with applicants.
