At its June meeting, the Manitowoc Common Council appointed Brett Vanderkin to the District 1 alder seat after nominations and two rounds of voting, heard presentations including a proclamation recognizing the city as a specialty malt capital and an annual report from Progress Lakeshore, and approved a slate of routine ordinances, licenses and committee reports.
