Nelson County Commission met Jan. 2, 2024. Commissioners approved routine minutes and bills, raised the county mileage reimbursement to $0.67 per mile, removed a special assessment for a Pekin parcel, approved a Historic Bridge memorandum of agreement and a Joint Powers Agreement for a shared Veterans Service Officer, created a Highway Department Shop Foreman position, approved three tax abatements, and set up an ICS savings account at Bell Bank.
