Newton City Council on April 1, 2025 approved an economic development agreement and long-term lease with Delco IV, LLC for a mixed-use project, denied a rezoning request for 46.3 acres on Burris Road, and adopted multiple budget amendments covering wastewater repairs, electric distribution extensions and equipment replacements. Council also heard presentations and public comments on homelessness, a dog park and community gardens.
