The meeting was called to order and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by an invocation led by Pastor Daniel Gibbs of Open Heart Ministries, who prayed for guidance for meeting leaders.
The Cleburne City Council met Jan. 29 and handled a slate of land-use and municipal items. Council approved multiple minor replats and permits, tabled a contentious concrete batching-plant special-use-permit to send back to Planning & Zoning for more study after neighbor objections, and denied a proposed PD amendment for an Encore Electric facility at the council's requested location. The council also approved an ordinance banning certain amusement redemption machines, a hangar lease at the municipal airport, appointments to the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee, and a $3.35 million water/wastewater budget amendment.
