Newton City Council met Jan. 9, 2024, at Newton City Hall. Council unanimously approved several routine items and a $31,500 budget amendment to repair and secure the police firearms training range; council also discussed a proposed amendment to the city's urban camping ordinance and heard two departmental awards and one public comment about neighborhood sewer service and voter turnout.
