At its May 7, 2024 regular meeting at Newton City Hall, the Newton City Council considered multiple land-use petitions, approved several budget ordinance amendments including an emergency generator replacement and a ground-penetrating radar purchase, and approved placing surplus equipment up for auction. The council rejected a voluntary annexation called The Falls and approved a rezoning request for the Second Nature Technology property.
