Newton City Council held a June 6, 2023 regular meeting at Newton City Hall. After a public hearing on the proposed FY2023-24 budget and public comment urging more outreach and review, council voted to table adoption of the budget. Council approved a 21‑month code enforcement contract with the Western Piedmont Council of Governments and approved a budget amendment to buy upgraded police radios.
