Newton City Council met Feb. 1, 2022. Council approved minutes and a consent agenda (moving one item to new business), awarded two financing packages to Truist Bank for equipment and infrastructure, adopted related financing resolutions, approved an amendment to Chapter 66-3 to permit school archery programs with Chief of Police permission, heard manager and department reports, and recessed to a closed session on Feb. 9.
