At its Dec. 12, 2023 meeting in Franklin, the Macon County Board of Commissioners heard an ARPA/Opioid funding update and regional planning timetable, approved a $20,000 contingency grant to the Scaly Mountain Historical Association for HVAC repairs, voted to remove a previously tabled agenda item on partisan school board elections, and discussed serious structural problems at the county library that staff say may require outside engineering review.
