Chair Lori Ratke (chair) called the meeting to order, took roll call and led the pledge of allegiance; she announced agenda order changes to hear several new-business items before the public hearing.
The Town of Bedford Town Council met for its Jan. 14, 2026 meeting. The council confirmed two department head appointments, approved a field renaming, held an extended public hearing and debate on the proposed 2026 operating budget and multiple warrant articles (including CIP reductions proposed by several councilors), heard a citizen petition to rebuild the skate park, approved a change to ambulance billing rates to match new state guidance, and accepted Councilor Kathleen Bemis’s resignation and then appointed a replacement for the remainder of her term.
