Carbondale City Council and Local Liquor Control Commission met May 14, 2024. The liquor commission approved event and restaurant license items; the council heard a prolonged, sometimes contentious public-comment debate over a proposed ceasefire/foreign policy resolution, approved multiple consent-agenda items and capital purchases (fire pumper, sewer-jet), and allocated start-up funding to a city-created nonprofit housing corporation.
