Meeting called to order; led the Pledge of Allegiance (student rep). Chair asked for a moment of silence for two recently deceased district community members and noted staffing histories.
The Southington Board of Education met March 12, 2026. Members approved several committee recommendations including preschool tuition increases, contract awards and funding for unexpected snow removal, voted to shorten the 2025–26 school year by one day, and approved educational specifications for two elementary schools. A proposal to install a large solar parking-canopy at Southington High School drew extensive debate and failed on a 3–6 roll call.
