At its Sept. 22, 2025 regular meeting at the VISD Administrative Center, the Vernon Independent School District Board approved the consent agenda, heard campus accountability reports showing gains at Vernon Elementary and mixed results at McCord, learned the district earned an "A" financial rating, approved two reappointments to the Wilbarger County Appraisal District board, and received a public proposal to preserve an 1890 school bell.
