The South Platte River Committee of the Denver City Council approved a construction contract for a pedestrian bridge at the National Western Center campus after a presentation from the Mayor's Office of National Western Center and questions about funding, elevator reliability, workforce goals and long-term maintenance. Councilmembers pressed presenters on federal grant "stickiness," easements, minority contracting goals and elevator maintenance before moving the item forward by consensus.
