At its March 9, 2026 council meeting, the Kewanee City Council approved routine financial items and two resolutions (demolition at 314 S Cottage St. and mayoral appointments) unanimously, heard a presentation from Placer.ai, and received a mayoral report showing preliminary record retail sales for 2025. The council also recognized lifesaving actions by residents and fire personnel and announced community events and cemetery cleanup dates.
