President Sridhar Chitur called the meeting to order, named attending board members (including student representative and vice president Wilson), explained public-comment sign-up and livestream/agenda links on the district website, and led the pledge and mission restatement.
The Albany City School District Board heard public comments and presentations on expanding student transportation via state child safety zones, accepted the child safety zone study and voted unanimously to place a K–5 1.0–1.49 mile transportation proposition (with a one-year 1.22% levy impact) on the May ballot; the board also accepted a facilities master-plan and approved SEQRA and bond resolutions to place a nearly $97 million capital project on the May ballot (board said the project is structured to avoid a tax increase).
