Valdosta Mayor and Council met March 12, 2026. Council approved an ordinance to create a city-only Construction Board of Appeals, called a special election to fill a vacant District 4 seat, awarded multiple construction and repair contracts, and adopted new water-service termination and backflow prevention rules. Several residents raised quality-of-life and housing concerns during public comment.
