South Padre Island City Council met to hear public comment on short-term rental rules, approve median improvements on Padre Boulevard, authorize a Gulf Boulevard sealcoat, accept several reports and grants, and controversially approve a budget amendment and payment of a $935,552 invoice tied to the convention center renovation while agreeing to pursue county approval and public workshops for an exhibit-hall annex.
