Meeting called to order; no quorum so committee agreed to skip approval of December minutes at the start and flip agenda items to begin with renter protections presentation. The chair opened the session and explained the agenda change.
At its March 16, 2026 meeting, the Government Operations Committee heard presentations on renter protections (legal limits, code-enforcement practices, outreach options and a possible voluntary landlord registry) and an employee-support update (employee survey results, benefits review and near-term pay/leave work). The committee approved enhanced outreach for renters (Option B) and asked staff to return with more information about a voluntary registry (Option C); it also accepted the employee-support update with no immediate action.
