Wauwatosa government affairs committee discussed a proposed merger of the Wauwatosa and West Allis fire departments, heard public comments from union leaders and residents, debated whether to provide written assurances to firefighters, voted down a motion to go into closed session and voted to forward a resolution/letter-of-intent draft to the full council reflecting four assurances for current employees.
