At its Nov. 13, 2024 regular meeting, the Paramount Unified School District Board heard extended public comment from multiple school counselors who said a staffing change requiring counselors to cover teacher planning time is reducing counseling availability and increasing workload. The board received an Equity update from district staff saying the district is no longer disproportionate in special-education identification and approved a slate of consent and personnel actions, including ratifying a tentative agreement with classified staff.
