Mayor Joe Stapleton called the Sept. 9 regular meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.; the city clerk reported six members present and one excused (Council Member Blonde).
Newport Beach City Council met Sept. 9, 2025. The meeting included a proclamation for Hunger Action Month, a historical presentation on the city's past freeway fight, a staff presentation on wildfire "fire pathways" and mitigation (including a Buck Gully grant), public hearings on adopting 2025 California building standards and on a proposed Snug Harbor surf park (council voted to send a resolution of intent to override the Airport Land Use Commission), several ordinance adoptions, and appointments to the Aviation Committee.
