Meeting called to order; attendees introduced themselves. Mary Hutchkins, Jan Lynch, Anna Tamus, Jessica Connor, Jenny Sliff, Thomas and remote participants including Larry Roberts and Dominic Rekio identified themselves. Chair/organizers confirm agenda and ask for additions.
Tompkins County community-services members heard a police presentation on community policing, reviewed a proposed pilot for a community responder (“Roots”) program funded at about $750,000 over three years, and discussed enforcement and housing concerns at a large private apartment complex where county health staff are pursuing sanitary-code enforcement and possible penalties. The group also reviewed subcommittee schedules and agreed to form a small group to draft a letter with recommendations for future affordable-housing projects.
