At its April 6 meeting the East Lyme Board of Education approved a plan to arm district security personnel, including the director of security, after extensive public comment and board debate; trustees also advanced budget-reduction options to close a $1.2 million gap and approved several routine motions including graduation date and an overseas field trip.
