Meeting called to order; Pastor Philip Moore of Eden Fellowship Ministries delivered the invocation and the pledge of allegiance was led. Mayor and council were thanked. Assistant City Manager Troy Anderson's pending promotion was announced.
Wichita City Council met April 7, 2026, for its regular meeting at City Hall. The session included proclamations, public comments on tree canopy, license-plate reader funding and parking, extended debate and a one-week delay of a proposed purchase/lease for a downtown parking garage linked to the EPC development, a contentious discussion and approval to buy one Spot robotic dog for the police, several routine contract and bond approvals, and votes to receive a land bank report and approve a community literacy partnership.
