Board president read the closed-session outcome: by a 4-0 vote the board denied a petition (SMCSIG claim number 202401067) to present a late government claim except as to events within the one-year window (09/13/2023–09/13/2024); claims for earlier dates were returned as untimely. President Stevenson reported the action was unanimous.
Sequoia Union High School District trustees met Oct. 9, 2024. The board reported out of a closed session rejecting a late claim, recognized Menlo Atherton High’s cheer team, heard heated public comment about the suspension of a longtime coach and employee privacy/FERPA concerns, took public testimony and a presentation on the Summit Preparatory charter renewal, and held first readings on a large package of updated board policies (including employee technology/privacy rules).
