The Georgetown-Quitman County Commission met Dec. 9, 2025, approved routine bills and minutes, set the 2026 holiday and meeting schedule, and received operations updates from County Manager Jason Weeks on EMS activity, road and right-of-way work, zoning amendments and a new landfill dumping fee. A resident, Lester Bussey, appeared to raise concerns about an EMS fee and a proposed Georgia Power transmission line affecting his property.
