The Denver City Council Health and Safety Committee voted 5-2 to advance a one-year, $150,000 contract with Axon for an automated license-plate recognition (ALPR) system to the full council after extended questioning about data sharing, retention, live-streaming capabilities and breach notification timelines. Council members pressed city staff and the vendor on policy updates, opt-out language for material feature changes, and how the system would comply with pending state legislation.
