Nassau County School District held a public workshop to review renewing a voter-approved 1-mill ad valorem operating millage (four-year continuation), proposed ballot language and revenue estimates, and to discuss a capital projects package including Callahan, Yulee and Fernandina Beach school projects. Dozens of teachers, coaches and parents urged the board to continue the full millage to preserve arts, athletics, safety and staff pay; the board directed staff to refine language, projections and project cost estimates ahead of an April 9 board agenda.
