The Santa Fe Springs Planning Commission met on April 13, 2026 and unanimously recommended two city-initiated land-use changes: (1) a general plan amendment changing floor area ratio language from “maximum” to “typical,” and (2) a zoning code amendment to allow barbershops and beauty shops in manufacturing zones subject to a parking-justification review. Both items were recommended to the City Council and passed the commission 5-0.
