Altoona City Council on Aug. 5, 2024 continued and closed a public hearing on the Sam Wise Sports Complex and voted to reject all bids; approved issuance of $2,590,000 in urban renewal bonds to fund SW 8th Street improvements; re-approved the Brook Ridge preliminary plat over a 3-2 vote; approved site plan for the Morgan Olde Town commercial building; and handled a consent agenda including a large pay application for 8th Street widening.
