Vice Chair Supervisor Sauter called the Government Audit and Oversight Committee to order, identified attending supervisors and staff (including Committee Clerk Monique Crayton and SFgovTV staff James Kawana).
On April 16, 2026 the Government Audit and Oversight Committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors heard and forwarded three substantive items: (1) a motion directing the Budget and Legislative Analyst to initiate a 2026 performance audit of the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office focused in part on overtime, (2) acceptance of the Sheriff’s Office 2025 military equipment use policy report and a request to add two pieces of equipment (a drone-as-first-responder system and a tearball grenade delivery system) to the inventory, and (3) five ordinances and one resolution authorizing settlements; all were forwarded to the full Board with positive recommendations.
