Mayor Sanchez called the April 8, 2026 meeting to order and the council completed roll call (Mayor Sanchez; Deputy Mayor Joyce; Council members Figueroa, Robinson, Weiss). Senior pastor James Schrader delivered the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance followed.
The Oceanside City Council on April 8, 2026 approved grant applications and project actions, voted to implement Brown Act (SB77) public-participation updates with follow-up on translation options, approved tax-exempt bond support for a 240-unit affordable housing rehab, named parks and a skate spot, and began a fast-track process to consider renaming a small neighborhood park. Council also received a state land-use update on SB79 and introduced a pay-adjustment ordinance for elected officials.
