Santa Monica Planning Commission held a study session on SB79, heard public comment on parkland and displacement risks, approved the consent calendar, and voted to recommend a two-track approach to the City Council on how to implement SB79 while directing staff to study transit-stop definitions, fair-housing impacts, and historic-resource protections. The commission also forwarded a ‘cottage court’ missing-middle housing proposal to council for further study.
