The Winchester Town Board of Selectmen held a public hearing on Dec. 18, 2025, on a proposed ordinance to deploy three automatic traffic enforcement safety devices (speed cameras) on Route 44 and North Main Street; town staff and vendor representatives said the program would cost the town nothing up front and aimed to reduce speeding and fund transportation projects, while many residents raised privacy, fairness and enforcement concerns.
