The Gainesville City Council met Oct. 7, 2025, and approved multiple ordinances and resolutions including zoning changes, two short-term rental permits, infrastructure contracts and several administrative resolutions. Council discussed but declined a proposed emergency services cost-recovery billing program and directed staff to begin a city charter review; the council also set aside two hotel/motel funding requests for reconsideration.
