At its April 20, 2026 Audit Committee meeting, Sumner County officials discussed an audit finding that the county may have improperly allocated reappraisal costs. County staff and a comptroller representative debated whether to treat 100% or a lower share of assessor-office costs as reappraisal-related; the committee unanimously asked the mayor to request statewide municipal-cost-share data from the comptroller and accepted the audit with responses.
