The Birmingham City Council met April 21, 2026. The council observed National Library Week and adopted congratulatory resolutions for local students and athletes, approved consent and several board appointments, and held a public hearing and vote to adopt the Eastern Area rezoning (ZAC2025-15) after extended public comment about industrial uses, soil contamination, noise and code-enforcement concerns.
